A police chase through South Brevard ended with a car crashing through the Patrick Air Force Base south gate on Friday night.
The pursuit began just after 10 p.m. Friday when a 2011 Toyota Prius with three juveniles was spotted by Melbourne police. The car had been reported stolen on March 23.
Early reports around 10:30 p.m. indicated that the Prius was traveling up to 90 mph over causeways in the area.
Indian Harbour Beach police told FLORIDA TODAY they assumed command of the chase as the vehicle drove northbound on South Patrick Drive. While pursuing the suspects, they crashed through the south gate of Patrick Air Force Base.
The three juveniles were found in a dumpster shortly after crashing through the gate.
They face charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding a law enforcement officers and resisting arrest without violence along with possession of marijuana under two grams.
