Although it may seem, at first glance, as though there can be little exciting to discuss and discover when it comes to storage facilities, they actually represent an opportunity for interesting and creative security gate applications.
It is essential that the security gate be completely controlled and monitored, preferably by a system that is tied in seamlessly with your revenue control software. Our network of installers are extremely familiar with all of the ins and outs of storage facility management.
Monitoring and Controlling Access
For obvious reasons, it is essential that the security gate be completely controlled and monitored, preferably by a system that is tied in seamlessly with revenue control software.
A typical secure storage facility will have a combination of a keypad/intercom/camera system for entrance and exit through the gate. Having any sort of free exit device (the ability to drive freely out of the gate without entering a code on a keypad, for instance) defeats the security that you are using as a selling point to your customers, since a burglar who might follow another car into the secured area, could drive his stolen loot right out of the gate quite freely.
The security gate itself should be constructed in such a way that it cannot be easily opened without authorization. This means swing gates should be avoided, and that slide gates should have the added security of a magnetic lock and/or be operated by means of a rail drive operator.
